The little boy that Alex high fives at the beginning has been a fan since he was like six/seven years old. He’s 11 years old now, is an aspiring drummer, and got to hang out on stage with The Cab during “Living Louder”, “Bounce”, and “Bad”. Definitely the most precious thing I have ever seen.

About this particular video, I do want to apologize for it cutting off towards the end. My memory card was full! Despite the mishap I wanted to post this video here because of one special little moment that occurred during the performance. Towards the end of the first chorus, Alex walked back over to where we were standing; all of us had our hands in the air, singing along, swaying, and so on. When the line “we’re all soldiers tonight” comes, he reached out and took my hand, squeezing our fingers together. I realize that given he’s constantly interacting with fans it wasn’t anything out of the ordinary. It made me smile though, knowing just those few brief seconds, it was like a thank you, and I took it in stride on behalf of everyone who has supported this small web site all the way back from the beginning and everyone who’s joined since. Soldiers Tonight is almost a year old now, in just a few more months. It’s hard to believe it’s actually been that long because I still remember when I first made it. It was just kind of a whimsical notion and admittedly I didn’t much know what on earth I was doing. Since then I’ve had a lot of remarkable experiences and met a lot of awesome people, and got to spend time with my favorite band more than I ever dreamed possible. It might’ve just been a quick hand hold, but everything that stood behind those few moments was what made it mean so much. Thank you, guys. Seriously.
