I definitely think his voice has changed but not necessarily for the worst. I could understand how one might come to that conclusion though, I suppose. While SS was greeted with overwhelming support there’s always going to be the fans that are unsatisfied for one reason or another (not saying you are, just in terms of a fan base as a whole). There’s a wider range on SS and it’s something I think that was definitely explored, and he’ll continue to see what he’s capable of vocally.

I think what I miss most, if I had to pinpoint the difference, is the rawness in his tone from when he didn’t know what he was doing. What Alex lacked in a professionally trained background he made up for with raw emotion. That isn’t to say he still doesn’t sing with passion - it’s just in a different way. If you listen to songs from the Glitz and Glamour EP, “Getting Old” especially I think, you can really hear a different level of intensity. He really sings the words, because that’s all he knew what to do. Comparatively to more recent songs, the emotion and dedication is still there of course, but with a new feeling of confidence and vocal experience.
